EXPERIENCED GUIDANCE THROUGH THE EXPUNGEMENT PROCESS
In certain cases, it may be possible to have any records associated with a past arrest and prosecution removed from public view forever. An expungement keeps jail records, police reports, prosecution reports and other court filings from ever being seen by the public.
Not every crime is eligible to be expunged. In general, if you have been convicted of a misdemeanor you must have made a pleading under the Louisiana Criminal Procedure Code Article 894. For felonies, a pleading must be made under Article 893. Article 881.1 gives the judge the authority to go back and amend any pleadings made under these articles.
